It’s such easy to be trapped in a routine, where you don’t always take time for yourself. Few weeks ago, when I was a bit overload with work about an entire week, so I called my husband on Friday and ask him for a date. Here we are then, at 3 Merchants Restaurant, located in Crowne Plaza Hotel.
They offer Indochine cuisine, including Cambodian, Vietnamese and of course, Lao cuisine. As well as Thai and Malaysian dishes.
First of all: the venue. The restaurant is simply BEAU-TI-FUL ! The entrance will plunge you in a colonial style atmosphere. Parquet floor, blue seats and benches and some touches of brush gold metal with diffused light.
Well, you get it, it’s really the perfect spot for a Fridate ! We had a great time, the service was very friendly and the food. Let’s talk about the food.
3 Merchants suggest Customers to order food to share, like at home. This is what we anyway usually do with Hubby anyway as this is the way we always had food in family. But for those who are not used to it, I would definitely tell you to follow their advise.
1) You’ll be trying different flavours
2) Honestly – like the sine dard – food tastes better when it’s shared.
Being only 2, we didn’t try much this day but I will probably be tempted again soon… – We had a Loc lac and a Tom yum Koong. I love Loc Lac and I was reall craving for it, so I am pretty happy I find a place to have it.
The food as good, I was worried it will be a bit westernized but it wasn’t at all! We could find in both plates local flavours, like spicy and sour for the Tom yum.
We ended on a sweet touch (that we shared too): the Coco-passion Bomb Alaska, made of coconut parfait and a passion fruit meringue. The dessert was just to beautiful to be eaten but well… Lol we eat every single crumb !
Prices are not that expensive and the service was perfect. Highly recommended place for a Fridate with your lover, in the center of Vientiane.
