You know how we love to go out of Vientiane skirts on Sundays. So the other day (and because I saw one of @Florehutch stories on IG), we went to Tad Leuk, or the “Deep waterfalls”… And it is actually deep deep !
After having a brunch at Kung’s Café, we left Vientiane around 11AM and took the Road 13 to the South. It was sooo crowded, it took us around 45min to arrive to Don Noun roundabout !
Once you pass the Phabath Phonsan stupa, you have to head the next village and turn on the left; the sign actually says you arrive in Saysomboun province.
We stopped to buy some Rambutans (my favourite fruit) and then drove a bit. The road is not that good and be prepared for the off road conditions once you leave the main road.
The only car that was there left when we arrived. Surrounded by the sound of the waterfalls (even though it was a bit dry) and only this, is … such peaceful, so … So … I don’t know how I can describe this feeling of wellness, but you might get my point.
We walked a bit, but to be honest, we didn’t go that far: it was super hot and I just wanted to be back in the car again with the A/C (Yes, I wonder too how I can live in Laos and being so allergic to hot weather lol) !
In case, you can have a long walk – as you can see on the picture below).
There is a restaurant on spot, but closed when we went, and also rooms available for overnight stays. Well, next time I will be happy to pack some food and bring my basket.
Do you have other waterfalls spot(s) to share with me ?
