VRC, these 3 letters are the acronym of the ultimate entertainment place in Vientiane. I am talking about the Vientiane Racing Circuit, the first track in Vientiane for race.
Ready to race ?
I had the chance to meet the owner, a motorbike lover, who used to train his son since the age of 4 (!!!)(he’s now 7) and who is always on the road with his family (his wife also rides a f*cking VERY nice motorbike).
Seeing there was no option yet in Laos for fun racing, he decided to build this track not far from Vientiane. They have about 10 kartings, but you can come with your bicycle or motorbike if you just want to train and ride.
I appreciate this man was devoted to make the wheel sport more famous and especially, to give the opportunity to riders to have a place where they can have fun. And so amateurs like us me can also come and ride a bit.
The kartings are brand new and the track is around 2km. With a 270cc engine, you can go up to around 60km/hour and have a lot of fun.
It costs 90,000LAK for 15 minutes, so depends on your speeds, but you can drive many loops. Hubbie had a lot of fun on this first visit (even alone lol) but we definitely look forward to come back with friends and see who’s the best (Am I talking like a man here ???).
There is a place to have food and drinks on spot, you’ll have the choice of Pad Khaphao or Khao phud…
It’s a good place to spend your Sunday, and there are more activities to come soon. I am really happy there are more and more to do in Vientiane (despite all we can hear about this lovely city).
