A (quiet) Pimay in Luang Prabang #Part 2

This serie is a bit special, as I bring you out of Vientiane. But Luang Prabang is a special place to me, made of memories and stories I heard. Here’s the second part of our Pimay in this beautiful place.

After the delicious homemade breakfast at the hotel was swallowed, we parked the car on the Peninsula and had a walk at Wat Xiengthong. There was no crowd this morning in the most famous Wat of Luang Prabang.

Did you already shake the “pot of luck” and read those small pieces of papers ? I use to do it in France on Pimay occasion, so well, being in Laos now, why not keep this habit ? I picked the No.15 which tells me I am lazy (WHATTTTT ???) ! Wrong choice.

We then headed to Wat Sen and… Showers ! But we took the time to song num Phra: water the Buddha image of Wat Sen and we had a discussion with one of the Khouba, who was telling us how the parade was a not-to-miss. I am always amazed by how kind people are here. Oh, the parade ? We didn’t even go !

Our Trip in Luang Prabang – Tips & Crushes:

  • Wat Xiengthong: There is an entrance fee; it was “according to what [we] wanted to give”; there are some Lao skirts to rent so you can be dressed properly
  • The frescos are a real crush, I love them !
