Last Friday, I attended the first edition of A night in the museum, back to the time, performed by Laobangfai Academy. What is this about? The History of our dear Laos narrated through art-dance performance.
The show was the last one happening there, as the Lao National Museum will be moving next to the NCC (Km 5 Road No.13). An original way to pay tribute to this place. Laobangfai describes the performance as below:
“Let the next generation of Lao tell the story of their country through dance, music and theater”
Have you ever seen people dressed up in traditional outfits dancing on the classic Thriller of Mickael Jackson? That was definitely an offbeat one !
The shows lasted a bit more than one hour, it started from the prehistoric period (yes, prehistoric !), where 2 men danced on hip-hop. To each “room” its era. After this, we moved to another room with the founding of the Lao Lane Xang Kingdom, where beautiful Lao traditional dancers, looking like Apsara dancers, show us their dexterity with their hands. We’ve been through all the periods of the Country, until the Contemporary period.
